Scagliola Columns

The 4 scagliola columns flank the Saloon and main entrance doorways in Mount Stewarts Central hall.

They act as majestic plinths to the elegant alabaster urns, converted to lamps.
The columns have suffered from substantial losses, with unsightly old repairs.

So with cracks and crumbling old restorations, it was time to clean, consolidate and restore the columns to their former glory.
